Could a Medium-sized Dog, like the Siba-inu pictured above be your perfect dog?

Pros and Cons

Medium-sized dogs are good for households who want a larger dog, but can't take care of a Big Dog. They have most of the attributes of larger dogs, but aren't tiny, so you still need some space for them.

Common Breeds of Medium-Sized Dogs

Boxer

Boxers are moderately sized dogs with very short fur. They usually have no tails, because before dog fights became illigal, Boxers were used in them, and a tail would get in the way. Their use in dog fights earned them their name.

Shiba Inu

Shiba inus are curly-tailed, shorter furred dogs. They are native Japanese dogs.

Wheaten Terrier

Wheaten Terriers are friendly dogs with very long hair. Because they have hair, and not fur, they do not shed.

Chow Chow

Chow Chows are extremely loyal to only one person. They have blue tounges, and very curly tails.

English Bulldog

English Bulldogs have medical conditions that make it hard to care for them, so only get one if you are willing to provide extra care for them.

Beagle

Beagles are extremely famous dogs, from their use in the Shiloh Series. The cartoon dog, Snoopy is a beagle.
